New evidence that antidepressants do more harm than good!
Jul 16th, 2007 by Patrick Valtin

In an unusual move, the Public Citizen Advocacy *(a national, nonprofit advocacy organization founded in 1971 to represent consumer interests in Congress, the executive branch and the courts), recently posted a video on Youtube to alert parents to a $48 million settlement of a lawsuit concerning Paxil antidepressant and side effects.
A class action lawsuit filed against Smithkline Beecham, the maker of Paxil, alleged that the drug company knew that Paxil was dangerous and ineffective when given to children under the age of 18.
Under that class action, if your kid ever took Paxil and was at the time under 18, you are entitled to recover all the money you spent on the drug. Even without receipt, you can recover $100.

Per the Public Citizen’s public announcement, $48 million is sitting in a fund waiting to pay back parents whose children were on Paxil before their 18th birthday. They actually have a number where you can get more data on this action: 1-866-494-8404.
You need to file out a claim form and mail it to the Paxil pediatric Settlement administrator in order to receive compensation. The claims must be received by August 31, 2007. To download a PDF document for your claim, go to www.paxilpayback.org.
Share this information with everyone you know has kids. The main purpose is not to collect money of course. It is to make people more aware of the dangers and liabilities of antidepressants – especially when prescribed to children.
